Grappling with White Guilt: a drama therapy exploration. Saturday July 15th. 10-4. Berkeley.

White identified folks (or anyone who self identifies as benefiting from white privilege and wants a space to explore this) are invited to join MFT trainees Sonia Decker and Morgan LeClaire for a daylong therapeutic workshop: Through active, physical explorations, participants will come together to learn/ unlearn, process debilitating feelings of guilt, shame, anger, apathy, and grief related to white supremacy, concertize their personal stake in anti-racist work; and discover ways to move from anxious paralysis into sustainable love based action.

    Topics of Exploration Include:
    -positive and destructive white roles
-overwhelming feelings surrounding oppression (including, but not limited to: ignorance, apathy, detachment, grief, guilt, shame, and anger)
-inherited legacies of perpetration and personal contributions to white supremacy
-paths to productive and sustainable action

Please share this information widely with anyone that you think may be interested! Thank You.

KPFA News coverage of UNDRIP, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People. The segment is around minute 47. Featuring Corrina Gould with the Confederated Villages of Lisjan and Indian People Organizing for Change, Berkeley Mayor Jesse Arreguin, and Nahko Bear! So much more from a potent afternoon that didn’t make it into the 3:30 min segment. Check out West Berkeley Shellmound facebook page for more. Produced by Cat Petru 🙂
